Good Dee's Churro DoughMuffs

Cinco De Mayo might be over but your love for churros doesn't have to be. We are huge fans of a crunchy cinnamon, sugar coating. So, we took our idea of a traditional doughnut and a traditional muffin, combined the two with a cream cheese filling and made our Good Dee's Churro DoughMuff!

These flavor packed treats might take a few more steps but they are so worth it. They are not only easy to make but low carb and sugar free too. Bonus!

These are perfect for a quick birthday party dessert, holiday treat, or even a celebratory T.G.I.F. bite. We even provided the recipe for our signature cream cheese frosting. You'll want to save that recipe for future use. 

Trust us, you will want to make these as soon as possible. 

Here's what you'll need:

Ingredients: 

1 Good Dee’s Muffin Mix (follow directions provided on the pouch) 

 

Churro Coating 

Ingredients: 

¼ cup granular erythritol 

¼ cup powdered cinnamon  

 

Good Dee’s Cream Cheese Frosting 

Ingredients: 

1 8 oz. package of room temperature cream cheese 

tablespoons of unsalted room temperature butter  

¼ cup granular erythritol  

teaspoon of vanilla extract 

teaspoon of heavy cream  

piping bag  

 

Good Dee’s DoughMuff Directions: 

  1. Follow directions as indicated on the muffin pouch. 

 

Frosting Directions: 

  1. In a mixing bowl, add the cream cheese, butter, vanilla and erythritol. Mix ingredients using an electric mixer.
  2. Add in 1 teaspoon of heavy cream and mix thoroughly.  
  3. Chill in refrigerator until ready to use. 

 

Assembly Directions:  

  1. Add your churro coating to a bowl and combine. 
  2. Once your muffins are cooled, roll your muffins until fully coated. Set aside. 
  3. Remove your frosting from the fridge and add to your pipe bag. 
  4. Using the handle of a spoon, create a hole on one side of each muffin. 
  5. Insert your filled pipe bag and pipe frosting until the hole is filled and covered. 
  6. Repeat for all rolled muffins. 
  7. Top each muffin with remaining frosting or use to dip.
